BBC Radiophonic Workshop
With BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Spitfire Audio has digitally preserved the archive of the British broadcaster‘s former sound studio. There‘s plenty to discover among the nearly 1,100 samples: tape loops, percussion, synthesizers, warps, and more. Sounds from well-known BBC productions, such as “Doctor Who”, can also be found among them.
The developer has made this collection of historical sounds playable and manipulable as a virtual instrument. Countless presets for drums, distorted sounds, pulses, and the like demonstrate the impressive variety of sounds. The two available decks are sufficiently equipped with filters, ADSR envelopes, pitch/tune, and offset, among other features, to allow you to immerse yourself in sound design. At the touch of a button, you can even generate a clone of the audio in the deck.…
