Size matters?
Reading The secrets to giant veg, (June issue), I realised that I’d never be a champion, because my motivation for growing veg is not about size, but to produce intense flavours that supermarket veg can’t provide. What’s the point of size if it’s tasteless? Surely flavour should be our primary goal.
By only celebrating size and shape, we encourage the madness of supermarkets binning perfectly good food just because it’s slightly wonky. Please RHS, revise your excellence criteria, and embrace the small and wonky, but delicious!
