In a world where mass-production mail-order products is the norm and the number of individuals who rely too heavily on said bolt-on parts to build their bike is always increasing, it is refreshing to see those who still do things the old-school way. Now, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with bolt-on products— don’t get us wrong. Harley-Davidson really changed the exhaust game in 2017 when it released the new Milwaukee-Eight engines in all of its Touring models. And as you can imagine, the aftermarket manufacturers have been chomping at the bit to get some new product designed and developed for the new baggers. John Jessup’s bike came to him like so many projects come to bike-shop owners. You see, John runs a shop out in Stockton, California, called John Jessup’s Dream Rides, where he services and builds bikes. John had a longtime customer who needed his Road Glide fixed up back in 2006. After he had finished up the project, his customer informed him that he was unable to pay for the work. I love the Harley-Davidson Road King. It is my favorite Tourer from Harley. The only thing that has bummed me out over the years of owning the King is not having a stereo. That is an advantage the faired bikes have over the Road King. Well the guys at Bad Dad have done an excellent job of putting a complete package together for Road King owners out there who want music. The great thing about this system is that it keeps the front of your bike completely clear from any wiring or components. This bagger has had more lives than a reincarnated schizophrenic. We’re not even sure what to label it. No Rules Custom Cycles picked it up as an Electra Glide in relatively good shape then drew on the performance aspects of motocross and the sportbike world for inspiration.
