This smartly presented book, with full page portrait of the biographical protagonist adorning the cover, sets out as its thesis that Robert Stephenson’s achievements and contributions to society have been largely forgotten and seeks to redress this shortfall. While readers of Backtrack may disagree with such a statement, it seems that there is some weight to the argument.
