Bought new, the Zoe was never a spectacular bargain. Look on Renault UK’s website even now, with production ended and only a couple of dozen new cars in the network, and you’ll see an official price of £31,195 for the cheaper of two models, the E-Tech Techno. The trick, however, is to ignore these cars and consult the classifieds, dialling up 20- to 22-plate, low-mileage R135s – recent, powerful and best equipped.
