On 29 March, governing body Motorsport UK will resume issuing permits for events in England as restrictions from the third nationwide lockdown begin to ease. Note the reference to England, not the whole of the UK, as Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands have their own specific rules and guidance, due to devolved powers.
National motorsport is set to again resume, then – but carefully. Until at least 12 April, national rules still severely restrict staying anywhere overnight, which will limit events to one day only. After the first lockdown in 2020, MSUK set strict protocols for all event promoters, involving social distancing, the wearing of masks and so on, and these will continue to be implemented.
