Stellantis, the car-making giant newly formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the PSA Group, will embrace the diversity of its staff and brands while using shared platforms and engineering to grow, according to its boss.
The new firm is the world’s fourth-largest car maker and encompasses 14 brands: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall.
With the merger formally completed, former PSA head Carlos Tavares insisted that it isn’t a “defensive” move but one designed to help FCA and PSA overcome the challenges and seize the opportunities that the car industry is facing.
