PRICES and specs for Alfa Romeo’s revised Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio performance models have been confirmed, with the super-saloon costing from £78,195 and the hot SUV coming in at £87,195. AS our favourite small crossover, the Arona was always going to give the Vitara a hard time, and sure enough, there was quite a big gap in desirability between the two. The SEAT’s engine was more torquey than the Suzuki’s, and when this was combined with an extra gear ratio, it meant noticeably swifter acceleration. When that performance was blended with greater refinement, a better steering weight and a sharper ride/handling balance, the Arona had the Vitara licked dynamically. ALPINE has elaborated on its EV plans, outlining that the brand intends to have seven electric models on sale by 2030 – and a sports car is still in the product plan, despite the French firm’s deal with Lotus to help develop low-slung models reportedly collapsing recently.
