DESPITE sat-nav’s ubiquitous presence nowadays, many motorists prefer a paper map for planning, and there’s lots of choice. We reckon the A3 size is best, because these atlases show lots of detail, plus the surrounding area, and typically have a large scale. But they’re a bit bulkier, and if that’s a problem, an A4 version might be better.
After a while away, the AA has relaunched its atlas range, updated for 2022. Titles include atlases for Britain and France, Easy Read editions, and hardback options.
