RENAULT has revealed more details about its production-spec R5, confirming the model will go on sale in 2024.
Speaking to Auto Express at the Munich Motor Show, Renault’s executive vice president for engineering, Gilles Le Borgne, also gave a clearer idea of the car’s target price, telling us, “It will be a real affordable car. We need to be in the range between 20,000-25,000 Euros (around £17,200-£21,500), but still be profitable. That’s the challenge.” It was previously outlined that the R5 would cost around 33 per cent less than the current Zoe (which will go out of production in 2024), meaning a starting price of around £18,500.
Le Borgne also revealed more on the car’s powertrain and charging, confirming a 52kWh (usable) battery; a 40kWh model will also be available.…
