THE car scene in Britain down in the dumps? For sure, it’s got issues. And the Government’s shock decision (see p18) to make EVs more expensive is unfathomable. RIDE QUALITY THE Insignia we tested came on huge 20-inch alloy wheels. The low-profile tyres can’t absorb as much movement on the road as the larger rubber on the 17-inch alloys of the Superb, which contributes to the firm ride on this SRi VX-Line Nav model. We reckon a version with smaller wheels would be a better pick and certainly go some way to softening the Vauxhall’s low-speed ride quality.
