The Chesterfield front (or concealed-button closure) is an excellent design addition to many styles and can conceal either button or zipper closures. It is an excellent choice when you want a simple, unadorned style or when the perfect button just can’t be found. STAYSTITCHING is used to prevent outer seams (curves) stretching during construction and fitting. It is a very important technique and should not be omitted from the construction process. Done on a single layer of fabric, the stitching line should be made with small stitches (1.5-2.0) and lie within the seam allowance and no further than 3mm ( 1/8in) from the stitching line. Warp stretch woven Traditionally, stretch woven has the spandex factor on the crosswise grain, therefore when using a standard pattern layout; the stretch runs around the circumference of the body. A warp stretch woven is a fabric that has been manufactured with the stretch on the lengthwise grain; this can cause layout and metreage problems. When working with a warp stretch you turn the pattern pieces crosswise so that the greatest degree of stretch is running around the body. See diagram 1.
