Three days of delightful debauchery in the North Byron Parklands, where over 30,000 punters partied to a diverse lineup that boasted everything from ambient electronica to ball-tearing hardcore punk. The gig gods were smiling on Splendour this year, as the legendary mud bath that swamped the site in 2015 made way for moderate temperatures, crisp breezes and clear, blue skies. DAY ONE Our Splendour stint kicked-off with a punk rock wakeup call, thanks to Melbourne’s High Tension. Karina Utamo’s Banshee-esque screams ferociously pierced the speakers, giving heavy music fans their much needed hit early on.
