Lester William Polsfuss, known as Les Paul, was an American jazz, country, and blues guitarist, songwriter, luthier, and inventor. He was one of the pioneers of the solid-body electric guitar, and his ‘signature’ model Gibson guitar was first sold in 1952.
Les Paul, the man, was born in 1915, and today I get to review the 2015 Gibson Les Paul Standard complete with the 100th birthday signature on the headstock.
To start with, this is a beautiful looking instrument with a maple top and honey-flame finish, and I must admit that I’ve always been a sucker for a Les Paul.
