Everyone in the southern hemisphere (and beyond) involved in aviation knows what the word “Avalon” means, although officially the event is known as The Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition. Avalon is a biennial six days of industry conferences, seminars, meetings, showcases, negotiations, politics, photo opportunities, technology displays, static aircraft displays, fly-ins, hospitality, food and drink, public relations, and flying displays.
And the 2019 event, run from 26 February to 3 March, especially featured heat.
The three trade days weren’t that bad weather-wise, relatively speaking, but the following public days were like standing at the gates of hell in a dust storm.
