I’m standing in the midst of disconnected aircraft parts – seats, floor coverings, inspection panels and interior mouldings, all neatly arranged on shelving beside a naked assembly of airframe panels and fasteners, cables, and electronics. A nice young man is studying the response of my HSI to a simulated ILS signal, while the airframe Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) peers inside the teenage Cessna’s wings.
