Heritage began bringing to market The Promise Collection’s high-grade comic books on June 18, and nearly 200 from the collection debuted to obliterate expectations. A Recipe for Fun Dear Editor, What a fun article by Kris Manty going down memory lane with the article about the history of Jell-O Molds! (“Jell-O-Mold Madness,” Antique Trader, May 1, 2021). In the late ’70s, I started a local catering company. Entertaining at home with cocktail parties was booming. Along with the usual beef tenderloin platters, veg trays and Brie Cheese En Croute was also a molded salad of some sort. Tomato Aspic with Mayonnaise was also on every buffet table. My signature “molded’ item though was this gem: “Principio Crab Mold” as a hearty appetizer served with crackers from a local Cincinnati cookbook. It fits into a 4-cup fish mold perfectly.
