LAST week I received a call from a long-time friend, Mike Bozward, who owns Docklow Pools in Herefordshire. IT’S QUITE surprising what you can find if you bother to look for it. I run a lake called Shearwater on behalf of the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire. When it was closed through Covid, a rather large group of cormorants spent a couple of winters on there, doing what they do. It’s a park lake and, coupled with the conservation status of the estate, there was nothing we could do but watch and hope the damage would be limited.
