TWO months ago, parts of the UK were hit by terrible flooding, and Nottinghamshire had it particularly bad.
Hallcroft Fishery in Retford bore the brunt of it. Lakes overflowed, and there was no fishing for many weeks, leaving the owners and regular anglers wondering what impact the deluge would have on this historic complex.
The answer is ‘not much’, judging by the early signs! Good match weights are being recorded, while pleasure anglers are enjoying great sport across the five lakes, with silverfish playing as big a part as carp.
