Quite apart from the famous open star cluster of the Pleiades, which is great to explore with a telescope of any size, there are other clusters that are equally rewarding. There are nebulae, too, perhaps the most famous of these being the Crab Nebula (M1), which was the first object on Charles Messier’s well-known list.
