Corolla enthusiasts will, for the first time, now have a compact SUV boasting the famous nameplate, and it’s been a long time coming. Meet the Corolla Cross, a modern take on the SUV concept that will slot in above the CH-R and below the RAV4 in terms of size and powertrain options.
First launched in 1966, the Corolla has sold over 50 million units worldwide and evolved through 12 generations to become the world’s best-selling passenger car. But it’s only been seen as a sedan, hatch or station wagon.
