CELEBRATING THE DAILY MILE
On 28 April, the Daily Mile had its 10th birthday. It’s a global movement designed to get young people exercising every day in school. To mark the occasion, more than 320,000 students from 1,340 schools around the world completed the Daily Mile.
NESTING OSPREYS
A pair of ospreys have laid their eggs in Dorset, in southern England, for the first time in 200 years. The birds of prey fly to the UK every year from north Africa, but this is the first time a pair have chosen to nest near Poole Harbour. Chris Packham, the TV nature presenter, said the arrivals were a “sensational development”.
