On 9 July, 30 track and field athletes competing in six countries took part in the Inspiration Games. With athletes unable to travel and compete at the same stadium because of coronavirus, the event allowed them to take part online, with cameras recording the action.
Competitions were held in the 150- and 200-metre sprints, 100-yard (91.44 metres) dash, 3 x 100-metre relay, pole vault, triple jump and hurdles. The athletes were based in California and Florida, in the US, plus France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland. Allyson Felix, running in California, won the 150 metres and later helped her team win the relay.
