On 3 August, England’s hopes for victory in the Women’s Euro 2017 tournament were dashed when the squad was knocked out by host country, the Netherlands, at the semi-final stage. The team’s performance has, however, drawn praise from all quarters throughout the tournament – not least thanks to the efforts of star striker, Jodie Taylor.
Taylor is a natural goalscorer. Over the course of the contest, she scored five goals – more than any other player in the tournament – and was awarded the Golden Boot (the prize for top goalscorer).
