You might think you know quite a bit about the U.S. Marine Corps, and indeed, you certainly might. But I’m betting there is nobody—not even retired career Marine officers—who couldn’t learn a thing or two by making a visit to the National Museum of the Marine Corps located near Marine Corps Base Quantico in rural Virginia southwest of Washington, D.C.
The first time my son, who is an officer in the Corps, took me there I expected a somewhat humdrum day of stuffy, archaic exhibits and likely PR puffery.
