The nice folks at Master Lock, aware of Guru’s fascination with poking slender tools into awkward holes and wiggling them around until something pops, sent your author a biometric outdoor padlock (the nattily-named 4901EURDLHCC, which sounds like someone attempting to write a product name but succumbing to food poisoning half way through). MicroLED is the future of television, and Samsung is leading the way in making that future happen. Its panels use thousands of tiny LEDs to deliver per-pixel illumination for exceptional image quality, contrast and responsiveness, and unlike OLED it doesn’t suffer from screen burn or the ageing that reduces OLED’s colour fidelity over the life of a display. Many large companies have pledged to become climate neutral in the coming decade, but Ikea goes further: it has vowed to be not just climate neutral but climate positive by 2030, leaving the planet in better shape than it found it. Looking to get your hands on your first DSLR? Then this compact all-rounder from Canon could be just the ticket. It’s feature-packed and fairly quick and easy to get up and running. While the camera features a traditional DSLR style layout and buttons, it was smaller than we’d expected. But, that being said, there’s enough of the 250D to achieve a decent, steady hold. This award saw a closely fought battle for dominance, because this has been one heck of a year for phones. In the end, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra was unassailable. The touch screen is bigger than before – 10.1 inches compared to its predecessor’s seven – and it rotates as you move so that you can always see it.
