A man was sentenced to an R80 000 fine or a two-year prison term for illegal mining in Limpopo. Cheng Liang Tom Chen, 48, pleaded guilty on two counts of the illegal mining of chrome. In its trading statement for the quarter ended June 30, 2023, the mobile operator said group revenue increased 36.9% to R35.7 billion, posi- tively impacted by the acquisition of Vodafone Egypt and rand depreciation against its basket of international currencies.
