Correctional Services confirmed that Chris Hani’s Polish killer Janusz Walus was stabbed late yesterday afternoon in the Kgosi Mampuru Prison. The department said he was stabbed by a fellow inmate who was incarcerated in the same section as he was. He was taken to the prison hospital and the department said it would provide more details later. It is understood that he was stabbed by an inmate who was also serving a life imprisonment sentence – hardly a week after the Constitutional Court ordered his release on parole. It is not known when exactly he would be released, but the Concourt said this should be within 10 days of its judgment. CITY of Joburg mayor Mpho Phalatse says the metro has set aside more than R1.2 billion for strategic power supply to cushion Johannesburg from prolonged load shedding outages. It is unthinkable and unspeakable that Zimbabwean girls as young as 10 are getting pregnant. The government of Zimbabwe is failing these young people. It is not putting enough measures in place to prevent such catastrophes from occurring. The main drivers that are leading to girls as young as 10 becoming pregnant include extreme poverty, church practices and laws that are not hard enough on statutory rape. The Zimbabwean government is salient yet it has the strongest leverage to stop such the abuse of girls. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed to value the girls in the country who are being abused and taken advantage of. Mnangagwa should therefore tender his resignation for allowing such horrific abuses of girls who are on the extreme edge of poverty in Zimbabwean society.…

I WAS agreeably impressed with young Kade Wolhuter, the flyhalf for the Stormers, in Friday night’s game. Calm, cool and collected, with a great turn of speed. Sello Thaha suffered severe injuries to his back and neck. He lost his job as he could no longer lift heavy crates. MMAKAU resident Onthatile Sebati orchestrated a hit to wipe out her entire family allegedly because she wanted the freedom to go out and enjoy herself.
