“MY passion is to work with young people and, more so, children. I strongly believe that in times like today, it is important for us to reach out to the younger generation in an impactful way. Children have a way of relaying messages in the most unconventional but powerful ways,” says Theresa de Klerk.
De Klerk, who is the Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) station commander, has initiated several developmental programmes in the city, including the distinguished public information, education, and relations campaign, for which she is the overarching officer.
The campaign assists communities with information to avert environmental and other man-made disasters. It also reaches out to schools. It brings awareness on basic fire fighting, first aid, CPR practices, Covid-19 related activities, evacuations, as well as basic fire safety…
