S CRUB bulls have caused me more concern over the years than buffalo have, and I’ve shot far more buffalo. When a buffalo bull lifts his head and looks at you, it’s mostly just curiosity. When they actually have a go, it’s for good reason. I guess scrubbers have their reasons, too, but they react to them more often! If wounded, they’re far more likely to make an aggressive last stand than buffalo. This doesn’t mean that buffalo are to be taken lightly, but I believe that scrubbers will try to kill a fellow more often, provoked or not.
