Open up a work of Shakespeare or a King James Bible, and you will likely encounter the oldtimey English pronouns thou, thee, thy and thine. Most of us who grew up with an education in English literature or Bible studies are familiar with these almost romantic, ceremonial second person pronouns. However, contrary to our modern ideas about them, “thou” may may have actually lost the popularity contest with “you” due to being too vulgar!
