Mental health patients left in limbo Thousands of people with mental health problems are being left waiting for months for NHS help, a new investigation has revealed. Last year alone, 300,000 patients who qualified for talking therapy spent at least a month on the ‘hidden’ waiting list. The patients had all been to their first appointment which meant they’d been counted as having started treatment, although the treatment doesn’t start until the second appointment.
