Telstra, Optus, and Mobile JV (the new telco being formed by the proposed merger of Vodafone and TPG) will sell 5G services.
Australian consumers will be able to buy the first 5G-ready smartphones in Telstra stores by the end of June.
Telstra began rolling out its 5G technology in August last year and has since trialled it in parts of Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Launceston, the Gold Coast and Toowoomba.
In all, Telstra has more than 200 5G sites up and running, with plans to have more sites ready to launch by the end of the year.
