Once more, the spectre of Apple getting into TV programmes is upon us, this time supposedly in one bundle subscription along with Apple Music. It sounds plausible, but I’m still struggling with the ‘why’ – yes, it superficially makes Apple Music more appealing than Spotify et al, but surely just making the best product does that equally well. People use Spotify because it works the best across platforms, and its social features are great. Music services already have enough value in them (by having all the music), so throwing more stuff at the problem won’t help. Entry-level iCloud accounts include 5GB of storage. That sounds like a lot until you start to use it, when it can easily be consumed by a single iOS device backup, a few emails with chunky attachments and a handful of iWork documents. It isn’t really a practical option if you want to use iCloud’s more advanced features, such as syncing your Mac’s Desktop and Documents folders to make them available everywhere, putting your Photos library online, and using iCloud as a file-sharing alternative to Dropbox. If it’s the former, we hope she’s a got a good guide to edible funghi! If it’s the latter, it’s a nice little shot. The small cluster of toadstools is pretty fairytale-like, but we particularly like the ‘edge’ to the earth, with the grassy mat topping the slice of sinewy tree stump.
