THE ORIGINAL Knoll ‘Diamond’ chair by Harry Bertoia The form: A fine steel wire chair with a sled base and an open basket style appearance. What makes it special? The ‘Diamond’ chair, like the other chairs designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll, came from the Italian born artist’s sculptural experiments in metal. Bertoia migrated to America at the age of 15 and his artistic talents led to a scholarship at the prestigious Cranbrook Academy of Art.
