When we moved into our Sandringham bungalow, Tyler (now 11) was a toddler, and Dylan (now 10) was just a week old. The house was a sea of beige, so I quickly took charge and decorated their rooms in a playful way appropriate to their age. It’s been a winding road to full-time art for Upper Moutere creative Fleur Woods. Leaving the sanctuary of her high school’s art room, she partially completed a fine arts degree then worked in the corporate world before becoming a parent and relocating to Nelson so she and her husband Cam could pursue more creative careers. Moonlight shadow Don’t be afraid of the dark — this richly toned rainbow ‘headboard’ invites the soundest of sleeps. 1. The dimensions of your wall and bed will determine the size of your rainbow. Our dark inner section is 90cm wide and 70cm tall, and each stripe is 20cm wide — making our rainbow 210cm wide and 130cm tall. Scale it up or down by changing the width of each arc. 2. The rainbow incorporates vertical lines that curve upwards to form the arcs. Befitting the beauty of their jewellery, Meadowlark’s HQ is housed in a lovely two-level workplace in Auckland’s Newton that’s bathed in natural light.
