Recently, my friend Thys got married and gave the most beautiful speech. He spoke about gratitude and mentioned that it's so much more than being thankful. I was intrigued, so I looked it up. Thys was right. There is a difference between thankfulness and gratitude. The online reference said: “Thankfulness is an emotion, but gratitude is an attitude of appreciation under any circumstance.” And that perfectly sums up how I feel as I sit here writing about the 20th anniversary issue of Home, and the path that the team and I have walked with this magazine. WINNING LETTER Inexpensive upgrades Chanelle Maree of Brackenfell writes In May last year we moved to a bigger family home after 10 years of living in a modest two-bedroom house. While our budget doesn't allow for huge renovations at this stage, I try to find ways of transforming our new home to our liking by spending as little money as possible.
