The New Year kicked off to a busy start for the Danish royal family as they attended three formal events in one week. For the first, on New Year’s Day, Crown Princess Mary dazzled in a gold frock, worn with a dark plum cloak and a beautiful tiara and earrings. The Australian-born royal, 44, was accompanied by her husband, Crown Prince Frederick, 48, looking dashing in his military uniform (main photo). His mother Queen Margrethe was also at the annual royal banquet at Amalienborg Palace, which is held for members of the Danish parliament, top officials and court management.
