The mansion where it’s believed John Lennon wrote some of the songs for the 1967 Beatles album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is up for sale.
The mock Tudor mansion known as Kenwood was built in 1913, boasts six reception rooms (including the one left), six bedrooms, an indoor pool and 1.5 acres of gardens (top).
The former Beatle (above left) bought the house in Weybridge, Surrey, for £20,000 in 1964, and lived there with his first wife, Cynthia. Beatlemania was at its height and the leafy suburb no doubt provided some respite after a Hard Day’s Night being pursued by fans.
