We doubt when the original gang of four, Alan Martin, Martyn Payne, Steve Tristram and Mark Fullard, came up with the idea of a rod run staged at a drag strip, they thought it would still be going strong 30-odd years later. The reality, though, is it’s probably stronger than ever these days, and the 33rd staging of the Hot Rod Drags, now running at Santa Pod Raceway, in mid-September was proof of that. Amazing too that Alan, Martyn and Steve are still actively involved in organising it.
