A US woman has been arrested for keeping her stepson captive for two decades, after he set fire to their home to escape.
Kimberly Sullivan, 56, allegedly kept the unnamed man, now 32, a prisoner in his bedroom, and he was only discovered when firefighters responded to a blaze at the property in Connecticut. He reportedly told first responders he had intentionally set the fire using hand sanitiser and paper, stating, ‘I wanted my freedom’.
