OUR QUAINT BOROUGH is nestled in a big valley in the Appalachian Mountains. Greencastle values community and families, and we especially love the holiday season. The festivities begin this year with Taste of the Holidays on Nov. 8, and the annual tree lighting ceremony in center square on Nov. 16, which is the Friday before Thanksgiving.
Elves dance around the square giving jingle bells to residents, and we all enjoy carols, hot cocoa and cookies.
After plenty of singing and celebrating, there is an official countdown and the Christmas tree lights up. Our holiday parade marches through town Saturday, Nov. 17.
