Before the pandemic, the issue of singleuse plastic was at the forefront of our minds. BBC documentaries such as Blue Planet II and Drowning In Plastic sparked a national conversation about the impact plastic has on the planet, with the environment secretary at the time, Michael Gove, saying he was “haunted” by the images he’d seen on television.
