A study of more than 200,000 people has found that eating a handful of nuts twice a week can slash your risk of heart disease by almost a quarter. Those who ate walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pistachios and/or pecans twice a week or more were 23 per cent less likely to develop coronary heart disease and 15 per cent less likely to get cardiovascular disease.
