With a smile, my mum Karen, 56, handed me the tiny, frilly, pink dress and I held it close, imagining the little girl who’d soon wear it.
‘I feel so lucky,’ I whispered, smiling through happy tears.
‘Me, too,’ my husband Richard, 33, agreed.
Around us, our three gorgeous boys – Connor, 7, Tyler, 6, and Kian, 5 – were beaming from ear to ear, too.
It was February 2018, and they’d all come along for my private, early gender scan.
Mum was so thrilled, she’d rushed to the baby boutique next door and bought this dress.
‘Finally, I can indulge my love for pink baby clothes!’ she joked.
And, over the next month, we did just that. Splurged on pink teddies, dresses, blankets…
