A FAVORITE MEMORY of my family’s 2007 vacation to Colorado was our visit to Mount Evans (pictured above), one of the state’s 14,000-foot peaks, located west of Denver. After driving curve after curve to the top, the views were spectacular, and I saw great birds, including Mountain Bluebird, American Pipit, and White-throated Swift, as well as mountain goats and pikas.
