THE FIRST TIME I met Amandine Swaid, I thought, “Wow, best accent ever!” She was dressed to the nines, mostly sporting gear from Paris (France, not Texas), where she was born. I met her husband, Rony, about six years ago. He owns a salon in Birmingham, Ala., and cuts a mean head of hair. Through many scissor sessions, we became friends, eventually sharing a boat together targeting bass. He frequently fished in his home country of Israel, so we had an immediate connection.
