BMW has announced a round of updates for a variety of its models, bringing in a series of more powerful, more efficient engines, along with new features for the 2, 3, 4 and 5 Series ranges.
The M240i xDrive Coupe, M340i xDrive saloon and Touring, as well as the M440i xDrive Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupé, all get an uprated 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that now produces 387bhp. That’s an increase of 18bhp, which comes thanks in part to a new mild hybrid system. Peak torque also rises by 40Nm to 540Nm.
The result is a 0.1-second improvement in the 0-62mph sprint across the board; the M340i saloon now manages the benchmark sprint in 4.3 seconds, allowing the BMW to keep pace with the rapid acceleration figures currently offered by a…
