IT’S not much more than a rebadged SEAT with some mechanical tweaks, but that doesn’t do anything to lessen the Cupra Ateca’s appeal.
For a start, it has plenty of performance, a high-quality cabin and lashings of standard equipment. Standard adaptive dampers are a key ingredient, although the ride and handling balance is still compromised no matter which setting you choose, while the steering is numb. But the Ateca acquits itself well, even if it isn’t the sharpest driver’s tool.
