WHEN your battery can almost but not quite fire up your car, the practical and convenient way to give it a quick boost is with a lithium jump starter.
We put Sakura’s new 7,500 mAh model up against the winner of our last two tests, the Sealey SL65S. Using an ailing 12V battery on a 1.6-litre petrol car, our goal was to turn the engine over for five seconds, five times, with a two-minute break between each.
Both products were rated for performance, instructions, safety notes, cable length, case and extras.
While it’s generally impressive, the Sakura struggled in the starting tests, while the Sealey barely broke sweat, making it worth the price premium.
